The Shadowed Circle Compendium is a must have for fans of The Shadow. This book collects material originally published in The Shadowed Circle magazine as well as articles exclusive to this book. It’s an excellent way to catch up on the fine work done in The Shadowed Circle.
For those unfamiliar with The Shadowed Circle, it’s a publication dedicated to articles and artwork concerning The Shadow. Readers of New Pulp Tales should be familiar with the iconic character, but in case you’ve never come across The Shadow, he’s a vigilante who uses pistols and trickery to confront crime. He was a major influence on the creation of Batman and grew out of 1930s radio.
Speaking of Batman, Michael Uslan, the Producer of the Batman movies, wrote the introduction for The Shadowed Circle Compendium. In addition, writer Will Murray, of pulp and comics fame, wrote the Foreword. In the book, you’ll find tons of content dissecting The Shadow from every angle. Among the many subjects touched on are zombies, television pilots, final radio broadcasts, and rankings of favorites stories. All are masterfully edited by Steve Donoso.
